COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County United Way kicked off its fall campaign on Wednesday as over $15,000 was raised during a Radiothon they hosted at the AM 1590/FM 95.5 WTVB studios.
The Branch County United Way has 27 partner agencies that are impacted by the money raised and Executive Director Kevin Shepherd was pleased with the results of the Radiothon.
Numerous $25 gift certificates donated from local restaurants and businesses in Branch County were given away throughout the Radiothon along with other prizes.
Shepherd hopes the fall campaign will be like the ones that took place before the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19 severely impacted the Branch County United Way over the last couple of years in regards to their main sources of funding, with both payroll deductions and community fundraising events taking large budget hits.
The community has also experienced an unpredictable workforce and increased inflation.
Those factors negatively affected the ability to raise funds through workplace giving and payroll deductions.
