BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City and Quincy cross country teams competed in their final regular season meets last Saturday.
Union City’s boys were seventh while the girls finished sixth at the Kalamazoo Christian Comet Invitational.
Freshman Ben Gautsche and sophomore Jason Shoop finished seventh and eighth as they both recorded PR times. Gautsche had a time of 16:56 while Shoop was clocked in 17:00.
The Chargers had three medal winners in the girls meet as they all ran personal best times. Skyler Fraley was 15th with a time of 21:03, Alissa Skirka was 20th with a time of 21:33, and Murcie Wallen was 21st with a time of 21:34.
Meanwhile, the Quincy squads had eight medal winners at the Little Guys Invitational in Gobles.
The boys did not have enough runners for a team score but Jacob Reif was fifth with a time of 18:36.6 while Caden Troxle was 28th.
The Quincy girls were fifth out of ten teams. Sadie Miller led Quincy with a eighth place finish in a time of 22:45.13.
Charlotte Crabbs was 15th, Kaylyn Brenner was 38th, Brooke McVicker was 46th, Libby Butchart was 50th and Kailey Allman was 52nd.
