COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An appointment to the Maple Lawn Board will have to wait after there was a tie vote during Tuesday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting.
There were three candidates for the position including current board member Bob Montgomery.
During the roll call vote, the four Commissioners present were split between Montgomery and Steve Weight.
Commissioner Tom Matthew was unable to attend the meeting.
There was some confusion as to how to proceed and Commission Chair Tim Stoll called for a recess.
When the Commissioners came back into session, Administrator Bud Norman said another vote will have to be taken at a future meeting.
Kate Haberl was the other candidate for the board position.
