COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Contract negotiations between Branch County government and various unions representing county employees continued this week.
Andy Johnson represents union employees in the probate, district and circuit courts.
He told the Branch County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday that they are disappointed in the way things took place over the last couple of bargaining sessions and that the county engages in stalling tactics.
He also felt there are sometimes the county does not respect the union proposals.
Johnson stated they would like to see the judges involved in the negotiations.
Commissioner Jon Houtz, who is the Personnel, Plans and Policy Committee Chair, said during Tuesday’s meeting that bargaining sessions were scheduled this week with Branch County 911 and Circuit Court. There has already been a session with the Police Officers Association of Michigan.
Houtz expressed confidence that everything will get done adding the Johnson was a very fair individual.
