COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Friday was a time to pause and give thanks to America’s veterans of the Armed Forces.
The Coldwater American Legion Post #52, which was founded in 1919, held their annual Veterans Day ceremony.
Post Commander Bob Nagy thanked those who served their country.
Post adjutant Eric Anderson pointed out why America’s vets need support even after their days of service are long over.
Anderson said each Legion member has been tasked by National Commander Vincent Troiola to “Be the One” which meant they had to act when they believed a veteran was at the risk of suicide.
The ceremony took place after the Post Honor Guard fired a salute and bugler Jerry Ford performed taps at 11:00 a.m. which marked the exact time on November 11, 1918 when the First World War came to a conclusion.
