COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A long time member of the Branch County Sheriff’s Department will be retiring later this month and going to work for the City of Coldwater.
Deputy Steve McManamey is retiring from the Sheriff’s Department after nearly 28 years in law enforcement.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday night’s City Council meeting that McManamey will be the city’s new Neighborhood Services Department Code Enforcement Officer.
He will begin his duties with the City on Monday, November 28th, 2022.
McManamey is the second veteran member of the Sheriff’s Department who will be retiring in the upcoming weeks.
The Bronson City Council approved the hiring of Frank Barker last month as the next Bronson Police Department Deputy Chief. He will succeed Brad McConn who is also retiring.
Barker is currently a Sargent with the Sheriffs Department. His retirement from the County will be official in January and he will not be able to start full time with the Bronson Police Department until February 1st.
