COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Veterans Footlocker was created in 2017 by the Quincy American Legion Auxiliary Unit #157 as a way to assist struggling veterans and their families until a longer-term solution could be obtained.
Recent donations have provided the opportunity for the Footlocker to distribute Thanksgiving Dinner supplies to some area veterans in need.
Veterans in need can come to the Branch County Veterans Affairs office located at 517 Marshall Avenue in Coldwater this Wednesday, November 16th from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. to receive a grocery bag filled with mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn bread mix, canned vegetables and a frozen turkey.
There are currently 20 meal kits available and will be distributed on a “first come / first served” basis.
Kits will be limited to one per veteran household.
If you would like to donate a turkey, please contact Sandy Duvendack through the Branch County Veterans Footlocker’s Facebook Page.
Freezer space is limited. Please plan to deliver the turkey to the Veterans Affairs office Wednesday morning.
