COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An agreement between the City of Coldwater and the Michigan Department of Transportation in support of the proposed MDOT roadway improvement project on U.S. 12 on the city’s west side is on Monday night’s Coldwater City Council agenda.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his memo to the Council that MDOT is planning hot mix asphalt cold milling and resurfacing work and bridge rehabilitation work along U.S. 12.
He says the City has requested that MDOT perform additional work in connection with the construction including electric grounding system installation work over the Coldwater River, and sidewalk construction along U.S. 12 from Willow Lane to West Old Chicago Street.
The city is also asking MDOT to perform roadway removal and hot mix asphalt resurfacing work along Willow Lane from U.S. 12 to West Old Chicago Street.
The work would include ornamental fence and sidewalk installation work, together with necessary related work, within the corporate limits of the City.
The resolution that will come before the Council on Monday says the project has been budgeted by the City of Coldwater and included in the 2023-2024 Budget.
