(UNDATED) – 911 services around the State of Michigan went down late Monday afternoon which left emergency officials scrambling for over an hour.
The Coldwater Public Safety Department issued a Facebook statement saying the system went down at 4:40 p.m. and that residents should call the Central Dispatch number if they needed assistance.
St. Joseph County Central Dispatch said just after 5:00 p.m. they were experiencing phone issues both non-emergency and 911.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department reported on their Facebook page at 5:41 p.m. there was a partial outage. They then said at 6:17 p.m. that service had been restored.
WOOD-TV reported the outage came a few days after the Federal Communications Commission updated rules that require service providers to notify 911 call centers of outages.
