COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County has been looking at updating broadband service for over two years and now it’s ready to accept proposals from potential partners.
County Administrator Bud Norman said during Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting that it looks like grants will soon become available.
With the possibility of securing a grant, Norman got permission from the Commissioners to send out Requests for Proposals.
Norman said any potential partnership would be contingent on getting grant funds.
The County has been looking at using American Rescue Plan funds for a broadband project but Norman said they may or may not be a part of the solution.
The deadline for proposals to be submitted to the county would be December 8 with Commissioners scheduled to select a partner two weeks later.
