STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – A Sturgis Police Department K-9 helped apprehend a drug suspect late Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Meijer store in Sturgis.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says deputies from his department stopped a vehicle just before 11:30 p.m..
When the deputies suspected there were concealed narcotics inside the vehicle, they requested the Sturgis Police K-9 unit respond to the stop.
Lillywhite says K-9 Odin indicated on the suspect vehicle for the presence of narcotics.
Deputies conducted a vehicle search and found suspected methamphetamine inside.
As a result of the traffic stop, a 51-year-old woman was arrested and lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on narcotic related charges.
