HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hillsdale Hospital announced on Wednesday that due to the increase in cases of highly-transmissible illnesses in the community, including RSV, influenza and COVID-19, they will be limiting visitors to the Bediako Birthing Center, effective on Thursday, December 1.
The respiratory illnesses can be fatal to infants and officials say the visitor restrictions are essential to protecting their safety and health.
Visitors to the birthing center will be restricted to two designated support persons and healthy grandparents only for the duration of the laboring mother’s stay.
Children, including siblings, are not permitted in the Birthing Center at this time.
Hospital officials say these guidelines will be reviewed regularly and restrictions will be lifted as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.
