COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Almost two dozen units took part in the annual Coldwater Holiday Parade on Saturday night as those who lined U.S. 12 braved evening temperatures near 30 degrees.
The parade started at U.S. 12 and Hudson and headed west through the downtown area. The Coldwater Fire Department left the parade lineup at the last minute when they had to respond to a medical call.
There were three award categories. Parade organizers announced that Studio Le Femme got the Sugar Rush Award for being the most energetic, Cole Ford Lincoln got the Candy Cane Junction award for Best Use of Theme and the Coldwater B.P.U. got the judges’ Conductors Award for the being the best overall.
This year’s theme was “Toy Trains and Candy Canes.” Long time Coldwater High School cross country and track coach Jim Bilsborrow and his wife Jackie served as the Parade Grand Marshals.
