COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The open Superintendents position for Coldwater Community Schools has been posted on line after Terry Ann Whelan recently announced her retirement/resignation as of June 30, 2023.
The opening was posted on the Michigan Leadership Institute web site last Friday. They are the organization which is helping to facilitate the search for the next Superintendent.
They performed the same duties in recent years for Quincy Community Schools and the Branch I.S.D.. The posting will close on February 3, 2023.
Input is being gathered from the public through a survey this week on the Coldwater Community School’s web site. Respondents are being asked three questions, “What are the unique skills, qualifications, and characteristics desired of the new superintendent?”, “What are the challenges facing Coldwater Community Schools in the next 3-5 years?” and “What are the Points of Pride for Coldwater Community Schools?”
Focus group meetings to develop a profile are scheduled for December 13 with the profile scheduled to be posted to various sites on December 16. Candidates will be presented to the Coldwater School Board on February 20, 2023.
The first round of interviews is scheduled to start on March 8 with the final interviews scheduled for March 16. Whoever is selected by the School Board is scheduled to start their duties on July 1, 2023.
