COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved the addition of a second circuit Tuesday night to feed Clemens Food Group. Clemens is operating near the rated capacity of the conductor.
CBPU Engineering Manager Andrew Cameron says adding an alternate feed will increase the available electrical capacity allowing Clemens additional growth.
Cameron said construction is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2023.
GRP Engineering will assist with preparing material and contractor bid documents, and will also provide engineering support at the Jonesville Road substation.
The estimated cost to construct the Clemens alternate feed is over $669,000. As part of an agreement signed in 2021, the City of Coldwater will initially pay for the cost of the project. Clemens will reimburse Coldwater for all expenses once the project is complete.
