COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday that three companies responded to the broadband RFP by the time the noon meeting got underway.
Norman said the proposals will be reviewed before the top companies are interviewed by the Commissioners.
Branch County has been looking at updating broadband service for over two years.
Norman said during the Commissioners meeting on November 22 that it looks like grants will soon become available to help fund a broadband project.
He added that any potential partnership would be contingent on getting grant funds.
The County has been exploring the use of American Rescue Plan funds for such a project.
