QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man entered no contest pleas on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court in connection with a couple of domestic violence cases.
33-year-old Matthew Allen Jackson plead no contest to charges of unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and domestic violence in connection with an incident on September 17.
He is also entered a no contest plea to an habitual offender enhancement in that case.
In another case, Jackson entered a no contest plea to assaulting a police officer during another domestic violence incident on October 1 in an apartment on Glenn Avenue in Quincy as part of a third time habitual offender sentencing enhancer.
The rest of the charges in the October 1 case as well as another case against Jackson were dismissed in exchange for his pleas.
Lawyers for the two sides agreed to a prison term of between 10 and 30 years as part of the plea bargain. Sentencing is scheduled for January 30, 2023.
Jackson’s $400,000 bond was revoked and he will remain lodged in the Branch County Jail until the sentencing hearing.
