BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman reported to the Bronson City Council on Monday night that a major need for more day care options in the city was filled last week when the Bronson Planning Commission approved a special land use permit for an at home group day care facility.
It would serve between seven and 12 children and be located at 240 Oak Drive.
Mersman said there were a couple of concerns about traffic and noise. He added the ordinance requires the staggering of traffic for at home occupations for the pickup and drop off of children.
He also reported an application has been submitted to the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan so that Bronson can host a fellow from CEDAM.
This program provides ten fellows each year, one for each region in the state. A fellow has been in the City of Coldwater for the past 15 months.
As part of the program, fellows help communities by working to secure funding and projects for the community.
The fellows are paid by CEDAM with a $10,000 commitment from the City. The next round of selections will be announced January 6.
