QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council adopted the Quincy Fire Department operational budget for 2023-2024 on Tuesday night.
The fire department serves Algansee, Quincy and Butler Townships as well as the Village of Quincy.
Each entity pays a percentage based on population of their entire township which is based off of the most recent census numbers.
The village and Butler Township have a yearly $35,000 contract.
The total 2023-2024 budget increased by $10,780 up to $258,830.
Capital outlays totaling $18,000 were funded by Algansee and Quincy Townships and the Village of Quincy.
The Quincy Fire Department also receives funds through occasion donations from former employees, funeral memorials and insurance dividends. The money received from those donations are put into different categories in the fund balance line items.
