COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners will have a new member and different areas of representation with the start of 2023.
Alan McClellan defeated two other candidates in the August GOP Primary and then ran unopposed in November. He will represent District Five which consists of the eastern townships of Butler, Quincy, Algansee. and California Township.
Tom Matthew now represents District Four which covers Ovid, Kinderhook, Gilead, Noble, and Bronson Townships.
Tim Stoll is the District Three representative that takes in Bethel, Union, Sherwood, Batavia, and Matteson Townships.
Jon Houtz represents District Two that covers Girard and Coldwater Townships and the City of Coldwater’s second ward while Randall Hazelbaker represents District One would takes in the first, third, and fourth wards in the City of Coldwater.
The Branch County Apportionment Commission approved the new districts in October 2021 when they decided to keep the number of County Commissioner at the current number of five.
