COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Tim Stoll was re-elected as the Chairperson of the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their organizational meeting on Tuesday.
Stoll was selected on a 3-2 vote over Randall Hazelbaker. Jon Houtz supported Hazelbaker while Tom Mathew and Alan McClellan voted for Stoll.
As it turned out, McClellan cast the tie breaking vote.
Mathew was chosen on a unanimous 5-0 vote to serve as the Vice Chair. He will take over as Vice Chair from Leonard Kolcz.
In other business, the Commissioners decided to continue to hold regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m..
Work sessions will continue to be held on the Thursdays before a regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. except on the days there are conflicts with other board meetings.
Two Commissioners serve on the Health Board which meets on the fourth Thursday of the month. In the past, Board of Commissioner work sessions would start at 12:00 noon on the days there was a morning Health Board meeting.
