QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The owners of Barry’s Caddy Shack next to the Quincy Golf Course have announced the business is for sale.
It should be noted the business is still open while it’s on the real estate market.
Scott and Christine Barry purchased the Heights Party Store at 288 North Ray Quincy Road in late 2020 and had a grand opening for their new business the following April.
But as you probably know, Christine has been battling cancer in recent months.
She said on the Barry’s Caddy Shack Facebook page, “It’s with a sad and heavy heart that we have decided to put the Caddy Shack up for sale. This decision did not come lightly as this little store has fulfilled many dreams Scott and I have had about wanting to own a local business and having a business that gives back to the community. However, it is time to put my health concerns back to the forefront.”
She went on to say, “Back in 2019, we saw an opportunity and jumped on it and reopened what we felt was a staple in Quincy. A lot of time, dedication, and love went into this place to give the people of Quincy another choice of food options as well as the sheer convenience of not having to go all the way into Coldwater to get simple groceries. Scott and I can honestly say we have achieved that goal. But the time has come to pass the torch onto new ownership who can continue our vision we had a few years ago. It has been fun. It has been challenging at times. And the customers have always made us feel welcome and loved.”
Southern Marsh Reality is handling the sale of the business.
