HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The suspect in a Wednesday night drive by shooting was arraigned Friday afternoon in Hillsdale County District Court on five charges and is being held without bond.
30-year-old Matthew Christopher Mosby is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, possession of a short barrel shot gun or rifle and discharging a firearm from a vehicle causing serious impairment.
Michigan State Police investigated the shooting of a 24-year-old man from Hillsdale on Osseo Road near Beecher Road.
Mosby is alleged to have driven by at about 9:40 p.m. and shooting several times at the victim’s vehicle with one round penetrating the driver’s side door.
The alleged shooting victim was struck in both legs and the State Police say he was transported to Hillsdale Hospital for critical injuries.
Mosby was later arrested without incident at a residence in Bronson. A motive for the shooting is not known.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for January 18 with a preliminary exam set for January 25.
