BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson finished third while Union City was fifth on Saturday at the 26-team New Lothrop individual wrestling tourney.
There were 230 wrestlers taking part which made for a long day of wrestling. The tourney took over 11 hours to finish.
Bronson had six get to podium. Finishing third in their weight classes were Perry Lake (126), Jacob Britten (175) and Jacob Dixon (190). Carson Norton (165) and Matthew Blankenship (215) were fifth and Jayden Post (285) was sixth.
This was an individual tourney but team points are also counted. Bronson placed third as a team behind Dundee and New Lothrop with 110 1/2 points.
Union City had 104 1/2 points and with five Chargers making the podium including Landyn Crance who won the championship at 132 pounds. Logan Mears was the runner up at 106 pounds. Colton Russell was third at 150 pounds, Maddox Miller was fourth at 157 pounds and Hunter Gillies was sixth at 215 poinds.
