COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Quincy captured boys and girls varsity wins against Michigan Center at home Monday night.
Quincy boys used baker play to capture a quick 10 points outshooting Michigan Center [188-129, 208-176]. In singles action Quincy took points from their front three with Grant Wright [169], David Milliman [153] and Draven Baker [175] shooting well. Tyler Short battled hard through the 10th frame for a tie vs Dominick Courtney with both shooting 152. Quincy boys secured the win after the first singles match 17.5-1.5.
In game two Quincy took 8 of 9 points and 2 points for overall totals with Milliman [182], Baker [190], Wright [165] and Carson White with a 172. Quincy went on to drop 1645 on Michigan Center who tallied 1459. Quincy won 27.5-2.5.
The Lady O’s, fresh off their baker tournament win, started right where they left off taking all 10 baker points outscoring Michigan Center 279-217. Game one started out slow for the O’s as they were outshot 674-654. Elly Brewer would take her point with a 118 while Jenica Kaser put the team on her back shooting a 211 and keeping the point total close. Game two was a battle as it came down to the last bowler in the 10th frame. Quincy needed to capture overall totals to prevent a tie with Michigan Center. Caitlyn Otis did her part taking her point with a 158 as did Madison Wineland shooting a 151. Quincy was 3 under with Kaser coming off a strike in the 9th to wrap it up for the lady O’s. Kaser hit a key spare and got enough in her 3rd ball to put Quincy up for good 626-636. Despite losing overall totals the girls held on for the 18-12 win. Michigan Center outshot the O’s 1310-1280.
