HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Veteran’s Coalition in conjunction with Veterans Community Action Teams Region 9 will host a PACT Act information session on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the Hillsdale County Commissioner’s Board Room on McCollum Street in Hillsdale from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m..
The PACT Act expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans, and Survivors of Veterans, who were exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances during their service.
Randy Evans, Co-Chair of the Hillsdale County Veterans Coalition says, “There are many ads on television regarding the PACT Act and Camp Lejeune encouraging Service Members, Veterans and Families to call an attorney, when working with the Veterans Administration is available at no cost, and is the first step in the process. This information session will provide important information and allow participants to be screened for toxic exposure with a VA Healthcare provider.”
Gary Easterling, Director of Veteran Services from the Michigan American Legion, representatives from VCAT Region 9 and Ann Arbor VA will be presenting information and answering questions for participants. Participants are asked to bring their DD-214 and register for the session by calling Hillsdale County Veterans Affairs at (517) 437-3630. Lunch will be provided.
