DANSVILLE, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles finished fifth out of 18 teams this past Saturday at the Dansville Invitational as one of their wrestlers earned a top honor.
Captains Jacob Reif and Davin George are the first members of the team to reach the twenty-win mark on the season. Both now hold a season record of 20-1.
Reif was also voted the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler in the lightweight division. He was flawless on the day and did not surrender a single point to his three opponents, winning by pin fall and two 15-0 technical falls.
George beat the ninth ranked ranked wrestler in Division Three to win the 190 pound championship.
Lucas Dixon also beat the tournament’s top seed at heavyweight to advance into the finals.
In all, seven Orioles earned trips to the podium.
