BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A winter storm that is expected to hit on Wednesday may not drop as much snow on Branch County as initially thought.
As of Tuesday morning, Branch County appears to be on the northern edge of the storm system.
The National Weather Service has moved Branch and St. Joseph Counties from a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Weather Advisory as a total snowfall of four to six inches is expected.
The advisory is in effect from 4:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale and Steuben Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning for the same time period as those counties are expected to get five to eight inches of snow.
You can plan on slippery road conditions on Wednesday.
Forecasters say snow will spread rapidly north early Wednesday with rapid accumulations before noon.
The snow will become lighter during the afternoon, although blowing and drifting snow in open areas is likely to persist into the evening.
