BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – In Big 8 boys basketball Friday, Aden Hathaway had 30 points and went over 1,000 career points as Bronson picked up a 72-50 win against visiting Springport. Hathaway added 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, while Miles Losinska had 10 points and 8 boards and Saylor Wotta had 10 points, 7 boards, and 2 steals. The Vikings improved to 5-7 overall, 3-4 in the Big 8, and wll travel to Sturgis on Monday to begin a three-game road swing.
Quincy lost a close 51-48 decision at Homer. Ashtyn Morris and Grant Carter each scored 14. Morris added 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks as the Orioles fell to 7-5 overall, 3-4 in the Big 8. They will travel to Martin on Tuesday.
Union City lost at league-leading Concord 70-59. Landon Galvin had a team-high 18 points for the Chargers, who drop to 5-8 overall, 1-6 in the Big 8. They host Maple Valley Tuesday night.
And Jonesville remained a game back of Concord in the league standings with their 41-27 win against Reading.
