UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The 1975-1976 Union City Boys Varsity Basketball Team will be recognized as a Union City High School Team of Fame this Friday night in between the J.V. and Varsity Boys basketball games between Springport and Union City at McNett Fieldhouse.
The 75-76 Chargers had an overall record of 18-4 and were crowned Champions of the Big 8 Conference.
It was the first basketball league championship for Union City since 1949.
Members of this team will be introduced Friday night and their legacy as one of the greatest teams in Charger history will be honored.
Many team members have confirmed their attendance, including head coach Joe Cerva a long time teacher in Union City.
The JV game begins at 5:30pm with the Varsity Game following the conclusion.
A reception for friends and family of team members will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the high school media center.
