BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings girls basketball team remained unbeaten in Big 8 Conference on Tuesday night as they pulled away in the second half to defeat the Jonesville Comets 58-31 on the Vikings home court.
Bronson led 32-20 at the half and put the game away in the third quarter when they outscored the Comets 13-2.
Haylie Wilson, who recently recorded 1,000 career points, led Bronson with a game-high 22 points. Aubree Calloway added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Payton Springstead grabbed 10 rebounds.
Bronson improved to 13-1 overall. They lead the Big 8 Conference with a 8-0 record in league games.
The Quincy Orioles got a home court win as they defeated Branch County rival Union City 43-30 in the Coolest Gym in Michigan.
Ella Dunn and Neha Jain both scored 10 points for Quincy. Raigen Horsfall added eight points.
Jordan Chard was the leading scorers for Union City with ten 10 points.
Quincy is now 5-8 overall and 4-4 in the Big 8 Conference. Union City drops to 0-9 in the Big 8 and 2-13 overall.
Also in girls basketball on Tuesday night, Litchfield defeated Tekonsha 53-18.
