Joyce Elaine Necket, 91, of Union City passed away Monday January 30, 2023, in the care of The Laurels of Coldwater.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Burlington Cemetery, located on M-60, Burlington, MI 49029. Pastor Dan Maurer of the Union City Wesleyan Church will officiate.
Joyce was born September 2, 1931, in Lansing, MI to Stanley and Arlene (Cox) Burgess. She graduated from Fort Wayne High School. She joined hands in matrimony with Dennis Necket on September 9, 1962. Dennis preceded her in death in 1985.
When Joyce wasn’t waitressing at the City Restaurant in Union City, she enjoyed reading and gardening. Above that, she absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by: daughters, Melody Schmidt of New Haven, IN, Cynthia (Steve) Clark of Marshall, and Kathleen (Mike Simpson) Slone of Union City; grandchildren, Jennifer Schmidt, William Schmidt, Jamie (Brandy Leach) Wilson Sr., Shannon (Ricky) Gill of Union City, Sydney (Casey) Hicks; great-grandchildren, Owen, Connor, Maci, Scarlett, and William Hicks; and Kayla, Mathew, Jamie Jr., and Sierra Wilson
In addition to her husband Dennis, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial donations may be made out to the Union City Wesleyan Church, 202 St. Joseph St., Union City, MI 49094.
