Norman J. Green, 100, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services for Norman Green will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Rachel Labram officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born January 14, 1923, in Hillsdale to Seward and Mabel (Cole) Green. Norm married AnnaBelle Monroe, and she preceded him in death in 2006.
Norm graduated from Hillsdale High School and went on to attend Michigan State University to study agriculture. He owned and operated his own dairy farm, Short Lane Farms in Quincy where he also crop farmed and raised hogs.
He loved fishing with his son, David and brother, Frank. He was very active in Farm Bureau and Branch County 4-H Club. He also loved supporting Quincy athletics, so much that he was honored as a Quincy Super Fan.
Survivors include three children, Nancy (Lyn) Houtz, David Green and Sandy Ball; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; longtime companion, Norma Rutz and her children, Janet Aemisegger and Cindy Ricketts; and bonus grandchildren, Matt Avra and Crystal Page.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, AnnaBelle; and siblings, Martha Gaberdiel and Frank Green.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Branch Area Careers Center Norman Green Agricultural Memorial Scholarship.
