COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater remains in sole possession of first place in the Interstate 8 boys basketball standings thanks to a 52-49 victory over Jackson Northwest on Tuesday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Cardinals had to come back from a 27-21 halftime deficit to improve their overall record to 9-6. They are now 8-2 in the Interstate 8 games.
Donte Work had a double-double for Coldwater with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Ayden Dirschell added 12 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds and made three steals.
Niko Downs contributed eight points and three steals.

Coldwater swept the underclassmen games. The Cardinals won the JV game 54-31. Bennett McDonald led Coldwater with 13 points while Julian Thompson had 10 points. Kaden Lewis, Dayne Knapp, Julian Thompson, and Owen Tappenden all had two rebounds each. McDonald, Austin Downs, and Jackson Reilly all had three steals each. Downs led Coldwater in assists with four. The JV Cards are 9-6.
Coldwater captured the Freshman game 40-25.
