Herman M. “Max” Baggerly, 80, of Coldwater passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater.
The family will receive guests for visitation Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Max was born December 2, 1942 to Herman and Burnadine (Rexford) Baggerly in Coldwater, MI. Upon graduating from St. Charles School, Max proudly served in the Michigan National Guard.
Max was a lifelong resident of Coldwater and was a dedicated employee of Federal Mogul and Eckrich. He was a devoted member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater, the UCT, and the Coldwater Elks.
He enjoyed playing golf, following sports, especially auto racing and Coldwater High School sports, and keeping up with news and current events. In retirement, Max could be found enjoying coffee with friends or walking through Heritage Park. Max was a collector of stamps and coins but what he truly admired above all else was simply spending time with his family and close friends.
He will be dearly missed as a loving uncle and friend to many.
Max leaves behind his niece Lisa Albritton of Myakka City, FL, his nephew Richard Baggerly of Niles, MI, his great nephew Blake Albritton of Myakka City, FL; his close friends Wesley (Jennifer) Miller of Saline, MI, Christopher (Lorrie) Miller of Hillsdale, MI, J.J. (Jessica) Combs of Tekonsha, MI, Tom (Delores) Miller of Coldwater, MI, Bill (Ruth) Combs of Coldwater, MI, and Kent Miller of Coldwater, MI.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brother William Baggerly.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
