COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request from the Department of Municipal Services to purchase over $118,000 worth of new vehicles and equipment was approved by the Coldwater City Council on Monday night.
DMS Director Todd Mistor said the identified vehicle replacements for the current fiscal year include a 1-ton utility truck and a pick-up truck to replace vehicles purchased in 2003 and 2008.
He said the D.M.S. obtained quotes from Cole Ford Lincoln in Coldwater for replacement vehicles utilizing the MiDeal state purchasing program.
Additionally, the D.M.S. got a quote to have the 1-ton chassis upfitted with features including an hydraulic dump box, tarp, safety lights and a hitch.
Mistor said the purchase of both of these vehicles was included in the current fiscal year but due to manufacturer supply chain delays, the F250 pick-up is not anticipated to be delivered until early
summer and the F350 chassis isn’t scheduled for delivery until 2024.
Meanwhile, City Manager Keith Baker announced that Mistor will be moving on and leaving Coldwater city government this week after serving the city since October of 2020.
