BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A 75 year family owned business, White Star Auction and White Star Motorsport Auction on U.S. 12 east of Bronson, will be closing for good next week.
A business and equipment liquidation auction will be held at White Star this Saturday, February 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m..
White Star’s equipment, vehicles and supplies will be sold at absolute auction to the highest bidders. There will be no reserves.
All of the items that will be auctioned off are listed on line at snowmobileauction.com. An ad has also been published in this week’s Shopper’s Guide.
White Star conducted their last Motorsports Auction on February 4, 2023 as co-owners Virginia and Brent Wilber are retiring.
They decided in the summer of 2020 to put the business up for sale after the COVID-19 pandemic and state executive orders on the number of people who could gather in one location forced the cancellation of several monthly auctions.
The Wilbers said on White Star’s Facebook page they tried for two years to sell the business to keep it going. While they had a lot of lookers, no one stepped forward and nothing worked out.
However, the property will stay in local hands as the landscaping company Backyard Kreations of Bronson will take possession of the property next Thursday, February 23, 2023.
