BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County will be well represented at the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Boys Wrestling Finals at Ford Field in Detroit on March 3 and 4 as 21 wrestlers from the county punched their tickets on Saturday during the Regional Tournaments.
In the Division Four tournament at Mendon, Bronson advanced 12 out of their 13 Qualifiers while Union City advanced seven out of their nine Regional Qualifiers onto the State Finals.
Bronson had two regional champions and three runner-up finishes. Perry Lake won the 126 pound championship and won his 150th career match. Gabriel Erwin won the 144 pound championship. Other Bronson wrestlers going to Detroit are Owen Kimmons (2nd-120), Jacob Britten (2nd-175), Matthew Blankenship (2nd-215), Jacob Dixon (3rd-190), Aiden Fill (3rd-113), Logan Long (3rd-126), Layne Knisely (3rd-138), Drew Seekman (3rd-150), Carson Norton (3rd-157) and Mason Lindsey (4th-157).
In addition, Bronson head coach Chad Butters and his assistant coach Tony Turner were named the Regional Coaches of the Year.
Union City had two regional champs and three runner-ups.

At the Division Three Regional tournament at Adrian, Jacob Reif of Quincy won the 132 pound championship while his teammate Davin George was second at 190 pounds.
