BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls team along with both teams from Bronson will be competing next weekend at the M.H.S.A.A. Bowling Finals.
Nine bowlers from Branch County have qualified for next weekend as individuals.
The Coldwater girls were third on Friday in the Division Two regional meet at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo.
Coldwater’s Alexis Wood and Lily Cook advanced as individuals to the Finals as they finished in the regional top ten on Saturday.
Wood was sixth with a six game total of 1,019. She had a high game of 189.
Cook was right behind in seventh place to a total of 1,015 which included a high game of 191.
The Bronson boys were second while the girls were third on Friday during the Division Four regional meet at Jax 60 Lanes in Jackson.
Five Vikings qualified as individuals during the singles portion of the regional tournament on Saturday.
In the boys meet, Bronson’s Tyler Overholt was seventh with a six game total score of 1,101 which included a high game of 227. Hunter Woodman finished one pin behind Overholt in eighth place. He had a high game of 209.
Bronson’s Morgan McConn was second, Hadassah Bloom was third and Savannah Taylor was ninth in the girls individual regional.
McConn had a six game score of 1,134 included a high game of 214. Bloom had a high game of 211 and a total score of 1,106. Taylor finished at 938 with a high game of 200.
The Quincy Orioles were in the Division Three meet hosted by M-66 Lanes. The regional was pushed back one day due to power issues at the bowling alley. Neither Quincy team qualified for the State Finals on Saturday as the boys were fifth and the girls finished seventh.
