STEUBEN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Recent rainfall has given to rising water levels throughout Steuben County, Indiana as lakes, rivers, and streams are starting to swell.
The ground is also saturated from the winter thaw. With anticipation that water levels in some locations will continue to rise, Steuben County Emergency Management in cooperation with the Steuben County Highway Department will make available a sandbag filling site.
The site will be at the Steuben County Highway Department at 1900 North County Road 200 West in Angola. The site will be open Tuesday, February 28, from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 pm.
Sand and sand bags will be available for the public. You will need to bring your own vehicle to haul the sand bags, along with your own shovel to fill the bags.
