BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson City Clerk/Treasurer Karen Smith plans to retire in a couple of months after serving the city for almost 40 years.
Smith was appointed Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Bronson in 1983.
As Treasurer, she is responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions for the City, collecting taxes, and maintaining financial records for the City Council.
As Clerk, Smith is the official responsible for City records, keeping minutes for City Council meetings, and administering elections.
The job opening was posted by the city on Friday morning.
The position has a salary of $55,000 to $65,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
Benefits include insurance, dental and vision with a flex spending account.
