DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Three Branch County wrestlers have advanced to the championship round in Division Four at the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Wrestling Finals at Ford Field in Detroit.
Competing for state championships on Saturday afternoon will be Grady Iobe of Union City at 215 pounds, Perry Lake of Bronson at 126 pounds and Landyn Crance of Union City at 132 pounds.
Iobe is now 38-1 for the season. He scored a pair of pins on Friday before recording a victory on a decision in the semifinals.
Lake improved his record to 45-5. He advanced to the finals on three decisions.
Crance is 43-3 and will be going for his second straight state championship. He advanced to the finals on Friday thanks to two decisions and a pin.
Branch County wrestlers still alive in the Division Four consolation bracket as of Saturday morning were Carson Norton of Bronson at 157, Jacob Britten of Bronson at 175, Jacob Dixon of Bronson at 190, Matthew Blakenship of Bronson at 215 and Logan Mears of Union City at 113.
Meanwhile, Quincy’s Jacob Reif at 132 pounds and Davin George at 190 pounds are still alive in the Division Three consolation bracket.
MacKenna Webster of Bronson is still alive in the Division Four girls consolation bracket at 140 pounds.
