COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Mike Beckwith was honored as the Citizen of the Year Thursday night during the 69th annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce awards dinner.

Beckwith and his wife have lived in Coldwater for nearly 50 years. He has spent countless hours serving on numerous boards and committees during that time.
He urged community members to lend a hand.
Beckwith is a former principal and superintendent in the Branch Intermediate School District. He currently serves on the Coldwater City Council, the Coldwater Planning Commission, the Tibbits Opera House Board, the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Board and the Branch I.S.D. Board of Education.
A sell out crowd was on hand for the annual ceremony which was held at the Dearth Center for the first time since 2020. The 2021 event had to be moved to the Ponds and delayed until August of that year due to COVID-19 protocols. No Chamber awards event was held in 2022.
