OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – You may have noticed some renovation work has been taking place in recent months at the former Sportsman’s Bar at the intersection of Old U.S. 27 and Warren Road.
MyColdwater.com reported this week that John Downing from Edgerton, Ohio is the new owner of the property.
The closing took place in October through Case Realty after the property had been on the market for over two years.
After being a popular place to eat and drink for many years, the Sportsman’s Bar closed in the summer of 2019.
The new restaurant will be known as Kick’N Kountry Bar and Grill. An opening date has not been announced yet but applications for employment were being accepted this week.
A building that was occupied by a ice cream shop next door to the Sportsman’s Bar is also being renovated.
Work crews have taken advantage of the mild winter weather to perform renovation work on the inside and outside of the building.
The work has included the removal of cobblestone from the building. The front door awning has also been taken down.
