COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan and depending on where you live, you may hear sirens go off Wednesday afternoon. If you do, it’s just a test.
Once again, Branch County Emergency Management will not be taking part in the statewide tornado drill at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Branch County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Miner says the sirens are tested around the county on the first Saturday of every month.
Businesses, organizations, families and individuals around Michigan are encouraged to engage in this statewide preparedness activity but are not required to do so.
This would be a good time to go over plans with your family in case the area is threatened by severe weather.
