COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A resolution was passed by the Coldwater City Council on Monday night which sets a public hearing for April 24 on a grant application for future improvements at the city’s Water Resource Recovery Facility.
The grant from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund is through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
The City plans to apply to the grant program for partial funding of $15-point-9 million for the first year and up to $49-point-2 million in order to replace aged equipment and increase the capacity at the W.R.R.F.
CBPU Water Superintendent Brian Musselman says this is the first step in the process.
Musselman said they will do everything they need to do in hopes of securing the most money possible.
One of the requirements is the inclusion of a resolution from the governing body of the municipality in support of the grant application.
Mike Harvey from Donohue & Associates will be presenting the Clean Water State Revolving Fund Project Plan during the April 24 meeting.
