THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the Saint Joseph River at Three Rivers which affects St. Joseph and Branch Counties.
The Weather Service reports rainfall on Friday has led to rises on area rivers, causing a few to go into minor flood stage.
It is possible that rain on Monday and Tuesday could lead to additional increases in river levels.
The stage on the St. Joe at Three Rivers at 7:45 p.m. Sunday night was reported to be at 6.8 feet which is just below the seven foot flood stage.
The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.3 feet Tuesday morning.
It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning.
Precipitation has been measured on 16 of the last 33 days at the M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm.
Another 37-hundredths was measured at that location on Saturday which brought the total since March 1 up to four-point-four inches.
