Catherine “Kay” E. Worden, 97, of Tekonsha, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha at a later date.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service, on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Kay was born July 23, 1925 in Coldwater, MI to William & Minnie Morgan. She married Edward L. Worden on September 7, 1946 in East Jordan, MI. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1999.
Mrs. Worden was a dental tech and receptionist for many years, working for Dr. Phelps and Dr. Mendelsohn. She also worked at Lyons/Sherwood’s Pharmacy in Tekonsha.
Kay was a member of the Coldwater Eagles, the VFW in Homer and a local ladies group, the “Domino Club”. She enjoyed gardening and giving back to the community, volunteering at the Nearly New Shop and the CHC Auxiliary.
Kay is survived by her children Linda (Freddie) Otis of Coldwater, Carolyn McMichael of Quincy, Lloyd “Tug” (Sandy) Worden of Tekonsha; her grandchildren Frenda (Joey) Norton, Lonna (Rich Sarles) Pepper, Laura (Dan) Maloney, Tammy (Gary) Gay, Mellissa (Brian) Connin, Amber (Mike) Neely, Bryan (Jess) Worden, Jessie (Mike) Colone and 21 great grandchildren and 15 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Doug McMichael.
