COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater B.P.U. Board of Directors approved a bid of over $610,000 on Wednesday night from the Andy J. Egan Company for a Water Treatment Plant Filter project.
Water Superintendent Brian Mussleman said the project will replace some aging equipment.
Andy Egan was among those who submitted bids for Water Treatment Plant Filter and Sodium Hypochlorite Improvement projects.
Since the bids came in over a half million dollar over the engineering estimates of $1-point-1 million, Mussleman said they decided to ask the Andy Egan Company split the filter and hypochlorite improvement projects up.
Musselman said because the filter improvements are the most important of the two, the staff recommended that it be completed this year and the sodium hypochlorite improvements be pushed back for least two years.
He added because of supply issues, lead times for some materials may take up to 26 weeks which may delay the project.
Is Mr. Mussleman FINALLY admitting the water isn’t perfect? Wow! What next? Will he admit that it takes more than just a spray of FreeBreeze to kill the smell of raw sewage too?
