COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A four member crew from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities was among those who assisted the storm ravaged community of Wapakoneta, Ohio over the past week after a EF-1 tornado hit there last Saturday.
The Lima News reported there were seven injuries and significant property damage after the storm with winds over 100 mph struck during the overnight hours.
Coldwater B.P.U. Director Paul Jakubczak told the B.P.U. Board of Directors on Wednesday they were contacted for mutual aid assistance to help fix Wapakoneta’s electrical distribution and transmission system.
A Wapakoneta business with ties to Coldwater was hard hit.
Jakubczak said the Coldwater crew left last Saturday and returned on Wednesday. They were among 12 crews who were called in to help get Wapakoneta back on its feet.
